Bull Valley Golf Club Wedding

Bull Valley Golf Club Wedding with Ashley and Ian

Coming to you on the blog today is Ashley and Ian’s June wedding, which is a serious contender for one of the most energetic weddings.

I met Ashley and Ian when I took their engagement photos in West Dundee and we hit it off.  I was so excited and I couldn’t wait for their wedding day, that’s how much fun we had at the engagement.

I would say the weather on their wedding day was a little challenging . Every time we went out for portraits it would start pouring after few minutes. It was almost like someone was watching us and playing games, but Ashley stepped in and her amazing energy made it a happy day for everyone! As she said – this is my wedding story!! Raining or not!! I do agree with her and I was so impressed and amazed of her positivity!!

These two lovebirds met 2 years ago and clearly been having the time of their lives ever since. And, as you’d expect, the bridesmaids and groomsmen were just as much fun. I mean, there are wedding parties… and then there are wedding PARTIES.

The first look took place outside the venue and when they started reading the vows it started raining again.

Mingled in with the uproarious events were some genuinely sweet moments, too. I loved when everyone stays positive and fun! It just goes to show that fun and love go together really, really well.

The reception surprised everyone with a slideshow from Ashley’s childhood. This was displayed during the father daughter dance and brought out some tears.

Here are a few thoughts from Ashley:

How would you sum up your wedding in a few sentences?
“It was the perfect day. Everyone worked so hard to ensure that the day went smoothly which allowed Ian and I to focus on enjoying the moment with each other and all of our loved ones. We felt so blessed that so many people came from near and far to celebrate our love with us! ”

What was important to you about your wedding?
“It was important to us that everything ran smoothly and timelines were met so our guests could enjoy every minute. The vendors we chose exceeded our expectations with this and we are so grateful for that! ”

What made your venue “the one”?
“We loved the natural beauty Bull Valley provided with the golf course view and natural windows.”

What made the day really special to you?
“We were surrounded by all of our loved ones throughout the day. Our parents played a huge role in the planning process and coordination of the day which helped us enjoy every moment with them. Our bridal party was made up of our best friends and siblings so we were surrounded with our favorite people. My older brother officiated the wedding which was one of the most special moments of the day as well. Overall, Ian and I were so excited to marry each other which made the whole day special no matter what obstacles we faced. ”

What advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day?
“Enjoy. Every. Moment. There is so much more to planning a wedding than just living the day itself. From the cake tasting to the dress fittings, take it all in and enjoy the people who are around you. On the day day of, just remember that everything that happens is part of “your story”. Live in the moment and remember why you are marrying the person in front of you.

Where did you go on honeymon? “We are going to Mexico!”

Ashley was right!! ” Remember that everything that happens is part of “your story”!
