Hilton Chicago Northbrook Wedding Photos | Brandy & Danny’s Multicultural Celebration
Two weeks ago, we had the incredible honor of photographing Brandy and Danny’s wedding — a heartfelt celebration of love, culture, and family. The entire day was a vibrant blend of Romanian traditions and American wedding customs, captured across iconic Chicago backdrops and the elegant Hilton Chicago Northbrook.
Getting Ready at Hilton Chicago Northbrook
The day began with anticipation and joy as Brandy and Danny got ready at the Hilton Chicago Northbrook. The hotel provided a spacious and well-lit setting for their preparation photos, from the emotional details of Brandy’s dress to Danny’s finishing touches.
Downtown Chicago Wedding Portraits
After the getting ready moments, the couple, along with their bridal party, godparents, and Brandy’s parents, boarded a limo and headed downtown. We stopped at some of Chicago’s most iconic locations — including the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and the Chicago Board of Trade — for wedding portraits. These urban backdrops added timeless elegance and energy to their wedding photos.
Orthodox Ceremony at St. Mary Romanian Church
The next stop was St. Mary Romanian Orthodox Church, where Brandy and Danny honored Danny’s heritage with a traditional Orthodox ceremony. The spiritual atmosphere, intricate rituals, and love-filled expressions made this one of the most emotional parts of the day. After the ceremony, the couple was greeted with a joyful bubble exit, adding a whimsical touch to the tradition.
Reception at Hilton Chicago Northbrook
We then returned to the Hilton Chicago Northbrook, where the cocktail hour and reception took place. Before the evening officially kicked off, we captured a few more portraits of the couple in the beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces of the hotel.
The reception was a true celebration — filled with heartfelt speeches, energetic dancing, and moments that beautifully blended Puerto Rican and Romanian cultures. In addition to a DJ, the couple brought in a band from Romania, creating an unforgettable dance floor experience with Romanian hora dances and modern music alike.
A huge credit for the seamless flow of the day goes to Andréa Strange (she/her/hers), Owner, Officiant, and Coordinator with Happily Married After, who did a phenomenal job planning every detail and keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day. We were also fortunate to collaborate with the talented Simona from Martin Events, who captured the wedding beautifully on video, and my amazing assistant, Beatrice from H Photography, whose support helped us document every candid, emotional, and joyful moment.
