Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms Wedding

Micaela and Josh Wedding at Siegel’s Cottonwood Farms in Lockport IL

Congratulations Micaela and Josh!! What a wonderful rainy day we had at The Barn at Cottonwood!

I understood that Micaela and Josh met on a app called Hinge and they’ve been together for 2 years. Here is how Josh proposed: “We were very into doing puzzles. Once we were about to finish one specific he had his daughter and myself open a box. Inside that box was a puzzle and another box. When that smaller puzzle was out together, we read it. It asked me to be his wife and in the other box was the ring.”

Tell me about your dress. Where did you find it, how did you choose it, how did you know it was the one?

“White Satin Bridal in Downtown Plainfield. I had my mom, sister, and one of my bridesmaids with me in person and all my other bridesmaids and aunts on a zoom call. I knew it was the one when I started to cry and everyone else did too.”

The wedding ceremony was a little different as it did rain the whole time. I remember that when the ceremony started I was trying to get a little shelter so the cameras won’t be soak in the rain. Fortunately, It did not stop working and I was able to capture some unique shots.

Here are few more questions I asked Micaela:

Favorite moments: “First look with my now daughter, walking down the aisle to Josh, our first dance, and dancing the night away.”

How would you describe your overall wedding experience? “It was the best day of my life and we have all the luck with our marriage by how much rain there was.

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a wedding? “Don’t stress the small things, even though I did. 😂”

What was the first song you danced to as husband and wife? Father-daughter dance? Mother-son dance?

“First dance: Ain’t Met Is Yet- Matt Cooper

Father Daughter: Butterfly Kisses- Jeff Carson

Mother Son: Simple Man- Shinedown

Step-Mother/Step-Daughter: My Boy- My Girl version -Elvie Shane”  Wish you could have been there, too, blog readers! At least you can live through the pictures!
