Winter Engagement Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles
We meet again, wonderful blog readers! I recently photographed Alex and Frank at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles. This soon-to-be wedded couple will be getting married on October 5th and I’ll be taking their wedding pictures, and I am very excited to work with such photogenic couple.
They met at a small party in January of 2014, and they’ve been by each other’s side since then.
Frank proposed on Christmas Eve of 2017. They had spent the evening celebrating the holiday with Alex’s family. When they got back home, Frank surprised Alex and proposed.
What a sweet story! I asked Alex to tell what is most excited about their upcoming wedding:
“We’re excited about having it atVenuti’ss because the atmosphere is just beautiful in there. We are also very excited for our wedding pictures because we will have those forever, but we’re most excited to spend our lives with each other.
For the engagement, they were going for the more casual look since that is what they usually wear if they’re out and about. They love being outside and walking around no matter what time of year it is, so it being winter and being outside in nature was the perfect setting for them. They love walking around rivers and lakes all the time and they wanted that to come into play in their engagement photos. Snow just adds to the beauty of nature.
I also asked Alex if she has any tips for the other couple about to have engagement photos taken:
“I would say don’t be nervous and just try to act natural, it wasn’t the easiest but I guarantee it’s well worth it. Also dress warm if it’s winter!
We had a wonderful experience. We were both new to professional photography and Doru just made the whole experience comfortable and easy. We had great direction and couldn’t have asked for anything better!”
I know it’s going to be a gorgeous wedding! These two are real naturals in front of the camera. Their good looks, a sublime location in Pottawatomie Park, St. Charles and their genuine love for each other made this photo shoot a truly enjoyable experience!
