As a wedding photographer that covers Lake Barrington, I always love when couples choose the Wild Onion Brewery & Banquets for their big day. It’s such a unique and charming venue, tucked away with its serene pond and stunning views. When Maggie and Ryan reached out to me after meeting at the Wild Onion Brewery’s wedding show earlier this year, I knew their day would be special. If you’re searching for a Wild Onion Pub wedding Lake Barrington photographer, I can assure you this venue will provide the perfect backdrop for your photos.
On September 6th, 2025, friends and family gathered at the Onion Pub to celebrate Maggie Bobus and Ryan Underwood. Instead of doing traditional getting ready photos, Maggie and Ryan wanted to focus on portraits around the venue and capture the story of their ceremony and reception. Maggie arrived at the venue in a stunning white limo, and we immediately began portraits with her, her bridesmaids, and family around the beautiful brewery grounds. Meanwhile, Ryan was already at the venue, so we also captured him and his groomsmen in a mix of candid and posed portraits. These early shots set the tone for a relaxed, joyful day full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments at the Onion Pub.

Outdoor Balcony Ceremony
Their ceremony took place outdoors on the beautiful balcony overlooking the water. With the late-summer light shining from the east, it created the perfect romantic glow. Maggie looked radiant walking down the aisle with her father, and Ryan couldn’t hold back his smile when he saw her. The ceremony was heartfelt, filled with laughter, meaningful vows, and surrounded by nature.
Portraits Around the Venue
One of my favorite parts of photographing weddings at Onion Pub and Brewery in Lake Barrington is the variety of portrait spots. Maggie and Ryan made the most of it, from romantic shots with the pond in the background to fun and candid moments by the brewery’s artwork and rustic architecture.

Reception in the Great Hall
After the ceremony, the celebration continued inside the Great Hall. The reception was full of energy, amazing food, and lots of laughter. I had the pleasure of working alongside my good friend, DJ Sean Trudeau, who kept the dance floor alive all night. From Maggie and Ryan’s emotional first dance to the lively open dancing, the atmosphere was incredible.

Guests enjoyed cocktails, heartfelt toasts, and of course, a packed dance floor until midnight. The Onion Pub really knows how to host a memorable celebration, and this wedding was the perfect example of that.
Final ThoughtsMaggie and Ryan’s celebration reminded me why I always love photographing weddings at Wild Onion Pub & Brewery. The venue’s mix of rustic charm, elegant indoor spaces, and that stunning pond backdrop make every event unique. Last year, I had the joy of capturing another beautiful wedding here Wild Onion Pub wedding blog post, and it’s amazing how the space transforms to reflect each couple’s story.

A wedding day always comes together beautifully thanks to the talented team behind it. Maggie and Ryan’s celebration was hosted at Wild Onion Pub & Brewery, with seamless coordination by Adrianna Rajwa and her wonderful team. The music and entertainment that kept the energy high all night long were provided by Sean and Scott from Wed Start DJ, and photography was captured by myself, Doru, alongside my second shooter, Manoj. It was a joy collaborating with such dedicated professionals to create a day the couple will always remember.
