Northbrook Intimate Jewish Wedding

Joee and Daniel – Intimate Wedding in Nortbrook IL

Heading to Northbrook for the Gordon & Gordon wedding, I knew that it was going to be a wonderful day. It was last wedding on a crazy 2020.

This gorgeous, incredibly in-love couple, Daniel and Joee went to the same middle school, elementary school, and high school but were one grade apart. They both have the same last names so they knew of each other but never really met until they connected on JSwipe after college!

I started the getting ready photos at Joee home in Northbrook:

And here we are, at Rosewood Beach in Highland Park IL for the first look and photo session. For December it was an amazing weather.  I wish there was some snow but at least it wasn’t rainy!

After an emotional first look we took some photos of the couple and the families together then we went to the Congregation Beth Shalom in Northboork for the ceremony and reception.  In the parking lot at the Congregation, there was a sea of cars honking and congratulating the couple! It was all the friends that could not be part of the wedding because of the Pandemic restrictions.

Here is a little story about the couple:

How did the proposal go?
-Joee and Daniel were in Lake Geneva for Black Friday shopping and Joee thought they were going out shopping for the day. They stopped at the beach to check out the water and for Emily (sister) to take some pictures. Once on the beach, Daniel and the family had a banner and balloons set up on a lifeguard stand and Daniel completely surprised Joee with the proposal!

How would you sum up your wedding in a few sentences?
-Our wedding turned out better than we could have possibly expected. While our original plans changed many times, our micro wedding was beautiful and intimate. We were able to share our special day with our closest family in person and with many others via live stream.

What was important to you about your wedding?
-Joee and Daniels most important aspect of the wedding was to get married!

What advice would you give to brides and grooms planning their day?
-Our biggest piece of advice is to go with the flow. Our plans changed many times and with that brought a lot of stress. Just enjoy the planning process and your day will turn out beautifully!

Where did you go on honeymoon?
-We took a road trip for our honeymoon! We drove to Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia and back to Chicago. It was amazing.

Here are the vendors that made the wedding be memorable:

 Bridesmaids dresses: David’s Bridal
Shoes: Keds x Kate Spade New York Glitter Sneaker
Flowers: Flowers by KH
Groom’s suits: Formally Modern Tuxedo
Cake: Nothing Bundt Cakes in Deerfield
Photographers: H Photography
Make Up & Hair: We did hair and makeup ourselves!
